This is the first book in my Chicago series and was done in one of those theme books,
I just painted over the lines. I was living on the South Side of Chicago in a little room
I made in the basement of my parent's house. I was inspired when my parents took me
downtown to see the first Star Wars movie. These books were my way of escaping a
situation that I wasn't very happy with. Just going down to the corner liquor store
to get a six-pack was an adventure bigger than an Indiana Jones movie, so I didn't go
out much. I took myself right off the planet by creating this fantasy universe.
Never published, but people would come by every night to read the latest pages as
they were done. Hell, I didn't have to go out, the party always came to me! Then I
took the books along with me on my Airforce tour, where they were read party after
party. This was the late seventies, hardly anyone had cable, and there was no internet.
Entertainment was really appreciated back then.

During this period of time, I signed all of my work as Frank (Eagle) Bella.
